I totally agree with everything others have said here. Setting up auto login on a linux box is a Really Really Really Bad Thing To Do. Having said that, the way you do it will vary depending on your system, but in most cases it's handled in the conf for GDM, KDM, or whatever display manager you're running.
Your distribution may have a GUI tool, typically named something like gdmconfig (KDE also offers similar tools via the control panel, and some Gnome-based distros do as well. Your mileage may vary). Run that tool, and it should give you an option for setting up auto login for a certain user. Typically you cannot set up root for autologin, but that's good; doing so would be exceptionally foolish.
If you don't have gdmconfig or some similar tool, you can still accomplish this by hand. Since most distros use GDM, we'll assume that you're tweaking that configuration.
You need to be root to make this change; simply run su - and enter root's password.
Next, cd into /etc, and look for a subdirectory under that named gdm.
Within /etc/gdm, you should see the main GDM configuration file, named gdm.conf. Make a backup of that file (cp gdm.conf gdm.conf.original will do).
Edit the gdm.conf file with the editor of your choice. Add or modify your file to include these lines:
AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=whatever_name_you_want
TimedLoginEnable=true
TimedLogin=whatever_name_you_want
Save the file and restart the gdm process: /etc/init.d/gdm restart (or you could reboot, if you prefer).
So, now you know how for educational purposes. PLEASE do not do this to your own machine. It's simply not wise.
Hope this helps

dpkg-query -W 'make'
If it comes up with something like "make 3.1 build xoxo" ; it means make is installed. Otherwise it will say "No matching packages found" or something similar.
Also, what exactly are you trying to install using make? If its a common application you do not need to compile yourself, its in the repos. You can open synaptic package manager and install from there or just do
sudo apt-get install packagename

There are many programs that do that, not just one virus. technically, it's not even called a virus, it's a keylogger.
To get keyloggers off your system, use regular antivirus scans: http://www.free-av.com/ (good and free) and spyware scans: http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.h… and http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
But that alone is not enough. Imagine you unknowingly get a keylogger on your system on friday. You do some online banking etc. Then on saturday you find and remove the keylogger with those programs above. It's too late, the passwords have been recorded and sent back to the person who put the keylogger on your pc. To protect yourself from that scenario, use this program http://www.qfxsoftware.com/
Make sure to download the personal version, it is free. What it does is this: it encrypts all your keystrokes at kernel level, so even if there is a keylogger on your system, it will not be able to find out what you've typed. The logs will only contain mumbo-jumbo. I've tested it myself with a few different keyloggers and it works perfectly! That will protect you until you finally remove the keylogger with the programs I mentioned at the start.
